In other topic we spoke about Zohar. The book of Zohar is one of the major sources of the wisdom of Kabbalah. It was written by Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai (Rashbi), who lived in the 2nd and 3rd centuries CE.

Hi shelly what is the purpose of kabalah your main rpopusoe to all humanity .... and do you have special technique that you practised just want to know more. as the zen have meditation and so on ... would luv to know .honestly what is your own thinking my friends :) nice topic .
I don't know, that's why I ask... does Kabbalah have anything to do with angels? I have a book about angels, and there inside is something very similar to the Tree of Life.
Hi Isa, Rabby Yehuda Ashlag (Baal Hasulam, The owner of The Ledder) said :"the purpose of the wisdom of Kabbalah is a revelation of Creator to creatures in this world". As for the special technique or meditations - no, there is no such thing in Kabbalah. The metodics is based on reading authentic Kabbalah books. In the time of reading the reader receives so called "surrounding light," which purifies him and pulles him to the upper state, where his soul exists. There are two more conditions for the spiritual development except reading - The Teacher(Rav) and the group. But connection with those two may be virtual.
Hi Lucy, Kabbalah by the name "angels" defines special forces. It has nothing to do with the babies, or wings, just forces. It's like animals in this world help people in agriculture and transportation, so special forces, called angels, help souls to reach upper levels :)
seems the teacher or Rav have i common in Sufism and others spiritual belives. way which called Pir and Sangam (a group disciples who are learning). is that book accessible to all reader which book..? i guess the Rav have have to initiate the student?
Oh, Shelly that sounds very interesting... you read, and receive 'surrounding light' I would surely like to be pulled into the upper state. I love reading Spiritual books anyway. I have a box in my cupboard which is waiting for my attention.
But what of The Tree of Life...or Jacobs Ladder - is that anything to do with Kabbalah? Thanks. Love & Light Lucy x
Hi Isa, there are a lot of books, all authentic books are written in Hebrew or Aramaic. But there are also translated books, which are higly recomended for everyone. Of cource they are available, look here: http://kabbalahbooks.info/ Now, each person is reading what he likes and if he reads with the desire to get to the upper states, it awakens those surrounding lights. But the most powerful, of cource, is learning with the group. There are classes each day and everyone can see it free in the archive http://www.kabbalahmedia.info/index.php?DLANG=ENG&UILANG=ENG They are immediately adding translated video lessons from the same day. And there also is a possibility to watch it online. The main study usually based on reading "The Study of Ten Sefirot" and "Kabbalah for beginners", including questions, answers and explanations. As for initiating - it always comes from the student, not from the teacher, everything depends on the person's desire and having this desire is the only condition.
Dear Lucy, "The Tree of Life" is the book of the Holly ARI(Rav Itzhak Luriah Ashkenazi), the greatest kabbalist of 18 century. This book with explanations of Rav Yehuda Ashlag is "The study of ten Sefirot" I wrote above. By Jacobs Ladder people usually mean the spiritual ledder of 125 stages. Why 125? Because there are 5 worlds, 5 partzufim in each of them, 5 sefirot in each partzuf. Love, Shelly
